CHOLERA OUTBREAK IN LIMPOPO PROVINCE

THERE has been an outbreak of cholera in the Mokopane (Potgietersrus) area, in the Limpopo (Northern Province), SABC radio news reported on Monday. Twenty-two cases have been confirmed. The patients, all from Malepetleke village, are being treated at a local hospital. Twenty pupils at the Kgwatlele Primary School started vomiting on Monday morning. They were given oral treatment by health officials. A cholera outbreak in the area at the same time last year claimed eight lives. -Sapa
