Zimbabwe opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai was released by police on Monday afternoon after being charged with contempt of court.
”The president has made a warned and cautioned statement,” spokesperson William Bango said, referring to Tsvangirai, leader of the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC).
Tsvangirai was arrested at his home early Monday after he defied a court order banning opposition-led protests against the government of President Robert Mugabe, and vowed to lead the demonstrations. ‒ Sapa-AFP
