Petrol prices will rise by between 19 and 21 cents a litre on Wednesday next week, the minerals and energy department said on Friday.
It said diesel with a sulphur content of 0,3% would go up by 20 cents a litre and that with 0,05% sulphur by 14 cents a litre.
The retail price of illuminating paraffin would increase by 22 cents a litre.
Motorists would pay 19 cents a litre more for 93 octane leaded and unleaded petrol, and 20 cents a litre more for 95 octane and 97 octane unleaded petrol.
The steepest increase was for 97 octane leaded petrol — 21 cents a litre, the department said in a statement in Pretoria.
