Ogilvy & Mather will be the African National Congress’s advertising agency for the 2004 general election, the ruling party announced on Tuesday.
”The African National Congress is pleased to announce the appointment of Ogilvy & Mather as the ANC’s main media partner for its 2004 election campaign. This appointment follows a competitive bidding process which involved a number of the country’s leading advertising agencies,” the party said in a statement.
”While there were several strong candidates, the ANC felt that Ogilvy & Mather had the expertise, experience, profile and capacity required for a campaign of this nature.”
The appointment by the ANC comes soon after the agency’s strong showing at the annual Loerie Awards, the country’s annual creative awards ceremony.
Key O&M blue chip clients include SABMiller, Nedcor, Iscor, the Umsobomvu Youth Fund, KFC, and Audi. – Sapa
