Moneyweb earnings rise more than 30%

South African media company Moneyweb said on Wednesday its headline earnings for the six-month period ending September 30, would be more than 30% higher than the previous comparative period.

It added that losses, which arise after goodwill amortisation and taxation, would be materially lower, down by between 10% and 30%, compared with the previous comparative period.

The company said the improvement in earnings was mainly attributable to revenues generated from e.tv and the Citizen as well as a general improvement in conditions in the media sector.

The headline earnings and loss after goodwill amortisation for the six months to September 30 this year, have not been reviewed and reported on by Moneyweb’s auditors, the company said.

The company will release its interim results on or about November 3. — I-Net Bridge
