President Thabo Mbeki offered his condolences to Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe on Monday following the death of that country’s vice-president, Simon Muzenda.
Muzanda passed away on Saturday following a long illness.
”On behalf of the government and people of South Africa, I wish to extend our heartfelt condolences following the death of vice-president Simon Muzenda.
”Our thoughts and prayers during this difficult moment, are with the government and people of Zimbabwe, and in particular with the family of the late vice-president,” Mbeki said. — Sapa
