Acclaimed rock supergroup Limp Bizkit, famous for their heady mix of hip-hop and metal, on Tuesday announced the postponement of their South African tour, which had been due to start in Cape Town on April 2.
The band’s booking agent said this was due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
According to tour organisers Big Concerts, new dates for the band’s South African appearances — as well as for Dubai — will be announced soon and are likely to be in November.
Fronted by Fred Durst, the award-winning Limp Bizkit have sold almost 30-million albums worldwide, spawning number-one hits such as Take a Look Around, My Generation and Rollin’.
Their previous album, Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water, broke previous rock sales records by selling more than one million copies during the first week of its release.
Their latest release, Results May Vary, has however drawn mixed reactions from fans.
Said Attie van Wyk of Big Concerts: “Although we are extremely disappointed about the sudden postponement, we look forward to announcing the rescheduled dates as soon as possible.”
Those who have already bought tickets can go to any Computicket branch for a full refund.
