Leopards add to Hellenic woes

Venda-based Black Leopards beat relegation candidates Hellenic 2-1 in a Premier Soccer League match played at the Pam Brink Stadium on Wednesday night.

There was no score at half-time.

Leopards striker Duncan Lechesa opened the visitors’ account with a header in the 54th minute from a well-taken corner kick by substitute Kelvin Mushangahike.

Leopards doubled their tally in the 60th minute when striker Wonder Nhleko fired home after receiving a sleek cross pass from Sibusiso Sithole.

Hellenic did get themselves on the scoresheet in the 89th minute with a strike from Steven Hlongwane.

Leopards’ win sees them move from position 11 to position eight on the league table with 21 points from 19 games, while Hellenic have a meagre seven points from 18 games and are rooted to the bottom of the log. — Sapa
