More affordable Volvo

Volvo has introduced a new two litre derivative of the S60 series into the South African market. Because of the recent strong rand the company threw its hat into the circle and priced the very well equipped S60 2.0T at a very competitive R258 000 for the manual and R266 000 for the auto versions. Both models utilise a smooth and powerful (132 kW) two litre five cylinder engine aided by a low-pressure turbocharger. The S60 2.0T manual accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8,8 seconds, while the auto takes 0,7 seconds longer. Top-speed is claimed to be 210 km/h.

Standard features in the S60 include full Dynamic Stability and Traction Control (DSTC), electric driver seat adjustment with memory, an automatic rain sensor for the windscreen wipers, a trip computer and CD/radio control buttons in the steering wheel. Safety, as always with Volvo, is paramount. The car comes with driver’s and front passenger’s airbags, along with Volvo’s award-winning Whiplash Protection System (WHIPS), the Side Impact Protection System (SIPS) and the Inflatable Curtain (IC) – an airbag that inflates from the roof lining to protect occupants against head injuries.

Prices include Volvo’s 5 year/100 000 km all-inclusive service and maintenance plan.
