A 23-month-old baby who was raped died from her injuries in a Musina hospital on Thursday night, a Limpopo police spokesperson said on Friday.
The baby, who was staying with her aunt in Matswale near Musina had been raped by an unknown man on Thursday night, said Captain Ailwei Mushavhanamadi.
The aunt told police that she had been outside for a while and when she went back into her house, she noticed that the baby was bleeding.
She took her niece to hospital in Musina, where it was established that the baby had been raped. It was believed the suspect entered and left the home unnoticed. There had been no arrests. – Sapa
