Jomo Cosmos and Moroka Swallows shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw in a dull Castle Premier Soccer League match played at the Rand Stadium on Sunday.
There was no score at half-time. In the second half, both coaches — Cosmos’s Jomo Sono and Gavin Hunt from Swallows — made a number of changes.
Cosmos substitute Mark Haskins, who replaced Bamuza Sono in the 72nd minute, scored just three minutes later.
Haskins received a neat square pass from midfielder Tebogo Mokoena and scored on a counterattack, beating Swallows ‘keeper Grec Itasia hands down.
Just as everybody thought that Cosmos had the three points in the bag, Swallows substitute Goodwill Motaung equalised for the Beautiful Birds a minute before full-time.
Motaung replaced Edza Kasinauyo in the 74th minute. Swallows now have 44 points from 37 games and are in fifth place while Cosmos, from 27 games, collected 27 points and are still occupying 11th position on the log. – Sapa
