Hot dog buns filled with ice cream instead of sausages are keeping youth cool this summer in Japan’s western Osaka city, local media reported on Monday.
”Ice dogs” have been made popular by an Rokko Ranch Arai ice-cream shop in downtown Osaka’s America Village, a popular area for teens to buy American-style clothes, according to Kyodo news agency.
Shop owner Eiko Arai was quoted as saying that she puts ice cream inside of hot-dog buns and sells them at 300 yen ($2,7) per product.
”We sell about 100 ice dogs per day,” the ice-cream shop owner said. — Sapa-DPA
