Bloem Celtic look to first win

Bloemfontein Celtic are hoping to register their first 2004/05 Castle Premiership victory of the season at the expense of Dynamos at Giyani Stadium in Limpopo on September 15.

Celtic, who returned to the Premiership at the beginning of the season after winning the National First Division League, are lying third from the bottom of the log with only two points from four matches.

The Limpopo side are eighth on the log with four points from the same number of matches.

The two sides are still reeling from their weekend defeats. Dynamos were defeated 1-0 by Moroka Swallows at Rand Stadium, while Celtic lost 2-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns in Mangaung in Bloemfontein.

”We are playing at home and cannot afford to drop even a single point. It will be a tough match because Celtic are also under tremendous pressure for their first win,” said Dynamos owner Pat Malabela.

”The team has been doing well following the appointment of Lifa Gqosha as coach and Alex Bapela serving as his assistant. I’m confident that we will finish the season in the top-eight bracket.”

Dynamos will be without captain Gerald Raphahlela who was suspended by the management committee of the club after taking legal action against Malabela.

The former Orlando Pirates and Mahwelereng Real Rovers central defender is demanding R200 000 after accusing Malabela of defaming him in the media.

Malabela also confirmed that they have acquired the services of former South African Under-23 international striker Sibongakonke Ndlovu from Sundowns. — Sapa
