Mamelodi Sundowns launched a powerful second-half comeback to beat Santos 2-1 in a Castle Premier League clash at Loftus Stadium on Wednesday night.
Santos opened the scoring through Reuben Cloete, who took advantage of Sundowns’ sloppy defending as early as the second minute.
Sundowns won the game in the second half through close-range strikes from midfielder Siaka Tiene in the 57th and 83rd minutes.
Tiene’s shots were identical as he finished well-laid crosses from the wings to beat Santos goalkeeper Brendon Wardle.
After dominating the better part of the opening half, Santos faded in the second stanza as the Brazilians took complete control of the game. — Sapa
