A five-year-old Australian clambered into the family car, released its handbrake and was at the wheel when it ended up in the front room of a neighbour’s house.
Nathan Millar survived to tell the tale of how he’d ”just scratched” it, news reports said on Wednesday.
The car was actually a write-off and thousands of dollars of damage was done to the house after Nathan sent the vehicle careering 50m down the steep driveway of his Melbourne home.
A three-month-old lying on the floor in the front room of the neighbouring house was moved by his mother just minutes before the car crashed through the front window.
Bella Millar said it was the first time she had met her neighbours.
”They were fine,” she told Australia’s ABC Radio. ”They were just thankful Nathan and the little baby weren’t hurt.” — Sapa-DPA
