Golden Arrows beat struggling Tembisa Classic 2-1 in a Premier Soccer League match played at Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg on Saturday night.
Arrows’ goals came from Alton Meiring and Papi Zothwane, while Classic had to rely on former Bafana Bafana striker Bradley August.
Classic took the lead in the 23rd minute thanks to a superb strike from August, after receiving a cross from David Makgale, and went into the break with a one-goal advantage.
Meiring’s scored the equaliser in the 55th minute, and Zothwane capitalised on some goal-mouth confusion to stroke home the winner in the dying minutes.
This was Mlungisi ”Professor” Ngubane’s second loss in succession after taking over Classic’s reins from Trott Moloto. — Sapa
