Woman bites off attacker’s tongue

A 34-year-old woman escaped rape in Bushbuckridge when she bit off her attacker’s tongue, Limpopo police said on Wednesday. The woman was walking in a street in College View on Tuesday night when the man attacked her, said Superintendent Moatshe Ngoepe.

”We do not have much information on the case because we cannot speak with the victim as she is getting trauma counselling and the suspect is in hospital,” said Ngoepe.

All police knew was that the woman bit off the man’s tongue when he tried to kiss her. She managed to escape her injured assailant and called the police.

The man was arrested and taken to hospital. He would appear in the Bushbuckridge Magistrate’s Court after his discharge, said Ngoepe. — Sapa
