Martin rips through SA line-up

Chris Martin and James Franklin ripped through the South African middle and lower order on the second morning of the second Castle Lager Test at the Wanderers on Saturday to dismiss the home side for 186.

South Africa resumed on the overnight score of 133 for four, with Ashwell Prince and AB de Villiers on one run each. In the second over of the morning, Franklin took two wickets, with De Villiers caught by Scott Styris for two off the first ball, and Mark Boucher out lbw off the last ball of the over.

Six balls later, Martin had Prince caught behind by Brendon McCullum for six. The three wickets had all fallen with the score on 139. In his next over, he had Andrew Hall lbw for five, and in his following over he bowled Dale Steyn for two, to clinch his seventh five wicket haul.

Shaun Pollock and tail-ender Makhaya Ntini put on 25 vital runs for the 10th wicket, with Pollock playing a cameo innings, with three fours and two huge sixes. Kyle Mills ended the South African innings when Ntini was caught by McCullum for eight — with all of his runs coming off boundaries.
