Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka’s office welcomed the findings of Parliament’s joint committee on members’ ethics which on Tuesday cleared her of breaching the MPs’ code of conduct.
Based on information received, the committee found that the deputy president did not breach the code as she did not intend gaining financially when establishing the Lesila Burial Society, said Mlambo-Ngcuka’s spokesperson Thabang Chiloane, quoting Fazilla Mohammed, the registrar of members’ interests.
”The office of the Presidency has welcomed the findings of the joint committee on ethics and members’ interests on the alleged non-disclosure of interests in Lesila Burial Society by the deputy president,” he said. — Sapa
