French midfielder Patrick Vieira has sealed his move to Inter Milan from crisis-torn Juventus, the Turin club announced on Wednesday.
The transfer will cost Inter €9,5-million, payable over three years, said Juve, who were last week stripped of the Serie A titles they won in 2005-06 and in 2004-05 and relegated to the second division with a 17-point penalty for match-fixing.
Vieira (30) will draw a yearly salary of €5-million over the next four years.
The former French captain arrived in Turin in 2005 from Arsenal for €20-million and his one season with Juventus represents a capital loss of about €8,6-million, the club said in a statement.
Vieira joins fellow players Emerson, Fabio Cannavaro, Lilian Thuram and Gianluca Zambrotta in quitting Juventus.
But compatriot David Trezeguet is set to join Alessandro Del Piero, Pavel Nedved and Gianluigi Buffon in sticking with Juventus, who will be coached this season by Didier Deschamps. — AFP
