Twenty-five striking cleaners were arrested at a Pretoria railway station after forcibly undressing a woman who was on her way home on Wednesday, police said.
Inspector Anton Breedt said the striking cleaners were at Rissik station at about 2pm when the woman — apparently not a cleaner — arrived to take the train home.
Breedt said she was stopped by the cleaners who undressed her and started toy-toying around her.
A member of the public called a police captain who was on his way to work. With the help of Metrorail security, 25 people where arrested, 21 women and four men.
They will face charges of indecent assault and illegal gathering. Two men will also be charged with resisting arrest and one man will be charged with illegal hawking.
The cleaners will appear in court soon. — Sapa
