No further information can be released on the Brett Kebble murder case ”at this point”, Safety and Security Minister Charles Nqakula says.
He was replying on Tuesday to a written question from Democratic Alliance MP James Masango, who asked why the forensic division did not see Kebble’s vehicle before it was released, and how it was that the person who allegedly wiped the blood stain from the vehicle confirmed this with the press at the time and also gave instructions for the car to be valeted.
Masango also asked why it was necessary to take the vehicle back into custody if the forensic division was finished with the vehicle and why the vehicle was taken to Pretoria for examination after it was released from the panel beaters.
Nqakula said the murder case of Brett Kebble ”is still under investigation. Although one person has been arrested, due to the sensitive and advanced nature of this investigation, no further information can be released at this point … to prevent any hampering of the investigation.”
Asked why no progress had been made a year after the murder, Nqakula noted that the case ”has been remanded to December 8”. — I-Net Bridge
