Titans take Supersport title

The Titans duly won their SuperSport match against the Cape Cobras, which was played at Willowmoore Park, by 10 wickets.

The Cobras who were asked to follow-on, started the day on 131 for one. A second wicket partnership of 68 runs added a touch of respectability, but when Alfonso Thomas claimed the wicket of Henry Davids — caught in the slips by Martin van Jaarsveld — the writing was on the wall, as the Cobras line-up then imploded.

The final act of defiance came from Rory Kleinveldt and Ryan Canning who added 50 runs in 27 minutes for the eighth-wicket, but when Canning departed it was the end.

The win for the Titans sees them ”Titan” their grip on the SuperSport trophy as they now go 30-odd points clear of second placed Highveld Lions, who beat the Diamond Eagles. – Sapa
