Ferrari had a frustrating time testing in Spain on Monday with both the F2007s driven by Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa suffering electrical failure.
”Ferrari had scheduled an endurance test, technical adjustments and the development of new aerodynamic parts,” a statement from Ferrari reported after a session that was also affected by rain.
Raikkonen was only able to complete 25 laps, clocking a best time of one minute 23,21 seconds, while teammate Massa, whose car caught fire on his warm-up lap, stopped after 28 laps.
The two drivers will be back at the circuit on Tuesday for the middle day of the three-day trial ahead of the new season, which opens in Melbourne on March 18.
The fastest time of 1min 22,634sec was posted on Monday by the McLaren-Mercedes of Pedro de la Rosa. — Sapa-AFP
