The weekly Son has pointed out that the latest circulation data is misleading. The October – December 2006 figures make it seem as if its total ABCs have dropped by more than 100 000 while, in fact, the totals for the weekly newspaper are lower because Son in the Western Cape made no submission.
This was due to the fact that it is now audited as a daily newspaper. Circulation has only slightly dropped in Gauteng (41,942 between October and December 2006 compared to 42,210 in the previous corresponding period), Eastern Cape (21,977 vs 20,089) while the Free State circulation is slightly up from 12,044 to 12,911.
