Guns n’ Roses concert fires a blank

United States hard-rock band Guns n’ Roses have pulled out of a music festival in Johannesburg on April 27 and Cape Town on May 1, Big Concerts said on Friday.

”Guns n’ Roses were forced to postpone the second leg of their global tour, including appearing at My Coke Fest, due to an injury recently sustained by the group’s bassist, Tommy Stinson,” said Big Concerts spokesperson John Langford.

Said Stinson: ”I feel so bad right now. I accidentally fell down a flight of stairs. I put my hand down to break my fall and heard a loud ‘pop’. The next morning I went to see my doctor, and the bad news is it’s severely sprained and I may have done some ligament damage. I feel horrible.

”We’d like to apologise to our fans who were looking forward to seeing us for their patience and support.”

Those wanting a refund can collect them from Computicket as from Friday. Refunds will only be allowed until midnight on the day of the shows.

Bands still slated to perform include: Hoobastank, Staind, 3 Doors Down, Evanescence, The Springbok Nude Girls, the Parlotones, Evolver (Jhb only), Cassette (Jhb only), J (Jhb only), The Dirty Skirts (CTN only), Love Jones (Jhb only), and Taxi Violence (Jhb only). — Sapa
