Leopards, Santos share the spoils

Black Leopards and Santos played to a two-all draw in a season-ending Premier Soccer League game played at Thohyandou Stadium on Saturday.

The half-time score was 1-1.

Leopards dominated from the start and Solly Masango capitalised on a lapse in the Santos defence to open the scoring in the fourth minute with a low shot.

However, Roger de Sa’s charges never gave up and defender Musa Otieno Ongao equalised with a fine header in the 39th minute.

Santos came out attack-minded in the second half and their Botswana international striker, Mogogi Gabonamong, scored the visitors second in the 71st minute.

Leopards striker Jabu Maluleke, however, had other ideas and replied with the equaliser in the 79th minute.

Leopards supporters, despite the draw, celebrated and praised coach Bobby Solomons for pulling the team back from relegation.

Leopards end their season with 37 points in position eleven, with Santos on the same amount of points in position ten. — Sapa
