Designer shot dead at Gauteng legislature

A fashion designer was shot dead by hijackers while visiting the Gauteng provincial legislature, the Democratic Alliance (DA) said on Thursday.

”This is truly shocking and sad. It shows that we have a far way to go in ensuring safety in the inner city despite the CCTV cameras and the extra policing,” said the DA’s Jack Bloom.

The designer was looking for parking space at the legislature on Wednesday when he was attacked.

He was going to take measurements for blazers from members of the legislature.

”People should not have to feel that they are risking their lives when visiting the legislature, or any other government office in the inner city, he said.

The designer’s associate at Lethabo Brand Communication refused to divulge the deceased’s name. — Sapa
