Luthuli Dlamini, who has played the character of Stan Nyati in e.tv’s soap opera Scandal and who has been presumed missing for two weeks, is recuperating at his Johannesburg home after he fell ill, an e.tv journalist said on Monday.
”I fell ill, which was exacerbated by things that have been happening to me over the past five months. All this finally came to a head and put me off for some time,” Dlamini was quoted as saying by Zimgreats.com, a Zimbabwean website.
Journalist Peter Moyo said in a statement that he spoke with Dlamini on Monday and that the actor said he was recovering from his illness.
The statement was not released on behalf of e.tv, but in Moyo’s personal capacity.
Dlamini refuted claims that he had disappeared because of relationship and other personal problems.
”I can understand the speculation that went around as I had not contacted anyone but the drugs issue was, of course, unfounded.
”These are some of the issues I have to come out and clear. I fell ill and I just wanted some time alone,” the actor said.
Rumours were that Dlamini had been replaced by Sello Maake ka Ncube, former Generations actor and currently playing the lead in the play the Lion King. — Sapa
