Multi-award-winning, multi-platinum-selling artist Pink will head to South Africa for the first time this September, Big Concerts announced on Wednesday.
She will perform as part of her I’m Not Dead tour at the Sun City Superbowl on September 8 before heading to the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg on September 9 and the Bellville Velodrome in Cape Town on September 11.
“Pink is set to put on a powerful, hit-packed show, whipped up with her unique blend of soulful funk and punk-pop rock’n’roll,” the organisers said.
Pink has sold more than 25-million albums worldwide. She has also sold the most concert tickets in an Australian arena tour for a woman artist, shattering Kylie Minogue’s home record.
She played 36 sell-out concerts in Australia and New Zealand to more than 310 000 fans.
Born Alecia Moore in Pennsylvania, Pink’s first record was Can’t Take Me Home in 2000, but she only really shot to fame after that, when she featured on the hit single Lady Marmalade and released her bestselling second album M!ssundaztood with the help and songwriting skills of former 4 Non Blondes vocalist Linda Perry.
I’m Not Dead, released last year, is her fourth studio album and has earned her spots on the singles charts with Stupid Girls, Who Knew, U + Ur Hand and Dear Mr President.
