Smith on form for Golden Arrows

Golden Arrows striker Norman Smith was on target on Saturday night when he scored a brace for his Lamontville-based team, ensuring a 2-1 win over Amazulu in a Premier Soccer League game played in Durban. The score was 0-0 at half-time.

Smith opened the scoring in the 62nd minute of the game when he produced a thundering shot that hit an upright before the ball landed in the back of the net.

Six minutes later, Smith out-dribbled Amazulu goalkeeper Lawrence Ncala and pushed the ball into an empty net to make the score 2-0.

On the night’s performance, Smith proved himself to be one of the best strikers in the league. Each time he was put in possession, the Amazulu defenders were at sixes and sevens and only some great saves by Ncala kept the ball out of the net.

The match started with both teams attacking hard, but solid defence and good keeping kept the strikers out.

In the second half with Smith in great form and looking for work, Arrows got the better of their opponents.
