New micro payroll

A growing trend is for small business to outsource their human resources function, including payroll — down to domestic staff.

Thus Paxsal Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), a member of the Kelly Group, has introduced a micro-payroll product tailored to small businesses with up to 50 employees.

Paxsal’s micro-payroll solution, called PayZone, offers small businesses an efficient, cost-effective and legally compliant payroll administration tool equivalent to a fully functional and flexible in-house payroll system.

“The system is secure, web-based and is more affordable than conventional payroll platforms,” says Kelly Group marketing director Tracey Czakan.

She says that its use is not limited to small businesses. It can also be used in households to pay domestic staff. Czakan says it is a legal requirement to have your domestic registered with the Unemployment Insurance Fund and to provide him or her with a payslip.

“PayZone will pay the domestic’s UIF on the employer’s behalf, calculate the domestic’s monthly salary and pay it into his or her bank account,” she says.

“Over time, we will look at expanding this product by forming partnerships with external companies and offering users the opportunity to purchase other value-added products for their employees such as insurances, retirement savings, endowments, air time and medical aid,” she says.
