Three people died in a multi-vehicle accident in Hemlock near Ngodwana in Mpumalanga, the South African Broadcasting Corporation reported on Saturday.
The accident involving a minibus taxi on its way to Mozambique, a truck, a bakkie and a car at occurred on Friday morning.
Provincial transport spokesperson David Nkambule said a trailer that was being pulled by a bakkie overturned and was hit by the taxi. During this time, a truck appeared and collided with both the taxi and the overturned trailer, the broadcaster said.
The driver and a passenger from the taxi and another passenger from the bakkie died instantly.
Two seriously injured passengers from the taxi were airlifted to a hospital in Nelspruit in a stable condition. — Sapa
