The Democratic Alliance (DA) will launch its 2009 election campaign on January 31 in Soweto, the party announced on Thursday.
”The purpose of this launch is to outline the manner in which we intend to make our offer to the South African electorate, and the core themes around which the campaign will centre,” DA CEO Ryan Coetzee said.
In addition to this, the DA would also unveil its official campaign slogan, as well as reveal ”what the look and feel of the campaign will be”.
The DA’s election manifesto launch would take place on February 14 in Johannesburg.
”The manifesto itself provides the substance behind the DA’s offer, and will afford the electorate the opportunity to see exactly how it is that a DA government will make the vision of an open opportunity society for all a reality.
”The DA’s manifesto will make it clear for all South Africans to see that, underpinning our offer at all times is real substance; policies that are carefully considered and diligently costed, and which provide the hope of a better future for all,” he said.
”The DA has always provided the South African electorate with the most coherent, comprehensive and well thought out policy alternatives to the governing party.
”With our track record of effective governance in towns and cities across South Africa, we will now embark on a vigorous and radically different campaign to make the DA’s offer to all the people of South Africa,” Coetzee said. — Sapa
