Maritzburg United down AmaZulu

Maritzburg United staged a stirring fightback to come from a goal down to beat AmaZulu 2-1 in their KwaZulu-Natal Absa Premiership derby played at the Chatsworth Stadium on Sunday.

The win eases United’s relegation fears but plunges Usuthu back into the relegation mix. United now have 22 points from 21 games while AmaZulu are on 23 points but have two matches in hand.

In other Absa Premiership games played on Sunday, Free State Stars beat Bay United 1-0 while Bloemfontein Celtic defeated Ajax Cape Town 2-1. — Sapa
