Four changes for the Boks

The Springbok starting XV to face Italy at the Stadio Friuli in Udine on Saturday shows four changes from the team that started against France in Toulouse last weekend.

Wian du Preez starts at loosehead, Adriaan Strauss replaces the injured Bismarck du Plessis at hooker, Andries Bekker starts at lock and Danie Rossouw starts on the flank in place of the injured Schalk Burger.

Prop Tendai Mtawarira and lock Victor Matfield, who started against France, will be used from the bench against Italy.

Du Preez will earn his first Test cap on Saturday while there are two other uncapped players in the match 22 — flank Jean Deysel and scrumhalf Francois Hougaard.

BJ Botha has joined the squad to cover for the injured CJ van der Linde and has been included on the bench. Botha last played for
the Springboks against Wales in June 2008. — Sapa
