Lions scrumhalf Jano Vermaak will be joining the Blue Bulls after the completion of this year’s Absa Currie Cup, the Bulls revealed in a statement on Tuesday.
The scrumhalf, who has been part of the Lions structures since 2004, has signed a two-year contract citing the need for a fresh challenge as his main reason for the move.
“I felt it was time to make a change,” he said in a statement.
“I was with the Lions for a long time and when this offer came along, I knew it the right one at the right time for the right team.”
Blue Bulls CEO Barend van Graan said that he views Vermaak’s signature as another exciting step in their efforts to keep the Bulls on top of the Super Rugby pile.
“Jano is world class and will fit in nicely with our Bulls culture as he lives in Pretoria already,” said Van Graan.
“We are looking forward to the contributions he will make.” — Sapa
