There are two shows only this week of Stars of the Ballet Moscow, a lavish gala production by Edouard Miasnikov, whose Nutcracker was a sell-out sensation earlier in the year.
The show is a winning formula of uniting the leading lights of the great Russian dance companies, including the Bolshoi Ballet, the Moscow Classical Ballet, the Russian National Ballet and the Moscow Kremlin Ballet. The repertoire features some of ballet’s most compelling stand-alone pieces including Tchaikovsky’s Russian Dance from Swan Lake, Minkus’s Paquita Grand Pas, Saint-Saëns’s The Dying Swan, Adam’s Le Corsaire pas de deux and Jacques Offenbach’s The Grand Finale cancan.
The Playhouse Opera, Tuesday October 25 and Wednesday October 26 at 7pm. Tickets range from R135 to R225 and are available from Computicket. Early booking is advised.
