The SABC's chief financial officer Gugu Duda has been dismissed, the New Age reported on Friday.
"Yes, she has been dismissed … We don't know what her next move will be but she has been dismissed," the public broadcaster's spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago was quoted as saying.
He could not be reached for comment.
The publication reported that the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration on Thursday gave the SABC the green light to cut ties with Duda.
Duda was suspended in September 2012 in connection with procurement and financial irregularities. Tian Olivier took over as acting chief financial officer.
Last month, public protector Thuli Madonsela found that former communications Minister Dina Pule had interfered "unduly" in Duda's appointment as SABC's chief financial officer. – Sapa
