  • The award-winning play, DET Boys High, which was workshopped in the 1990s, is back with a young and vibrant cast. The 80-minute comedy deals with “substandard education” in South Africa, corruption among teachers and the battle between urban and traditional culture.   • The tragicomic Crazy In Love tells the story of a father and daughter searching for a missing bride and mother. The father, Leon, is abandoned at the altar and decides to travel the country with his daughter, Ginny, in search of his lost love. Crazy In Love was first presented at the 2013 National Arts Festival Fringe and won the Best International Production prize at the 2014 Amsterdam Fringe Festival. The play is a creation of the “open door collective”, A Conspiracy of Clowns, and was inspired by the novel Until I Find You by John Irving. The cast includes Andrew Buckland and Liezl de Kock.   • Dubbed “one of the most versatile and in demand trumpet players in South Africa”, Marcus Wyatt will take to the stage for the Marcus Wyatt, Afrika Mkhize & Siya Makuzeni Trio event for a night of jazz.   • Local political analysts have had a lot to say about the State of the Nation address. Now comedians are weighing in on the topic. The Tshwane Comedy Nights features stand-up comedy acts Kagiso Lediga (co-executive producer and director of Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola), Gavin Kelly, who has featured on Comedy Central’s Live at Parkers, Simmi Areff, who has appeared many times on LNN, and Stig Dlamini, who recently performed at the annual Soweto comedy festival.   • Port Elizabeth-born trumpeter and flugel player Feya Faku and jazz crooner Kevin Maduna will entertain audiences at Jazz and African Music Nights. Faku has performed with renowned jazz artists such as Thandi Klaasen, Pat Matshikiza, Bheki Mseleku, Abdullah Ibrahim and Dutch saxophonist Paul van Kemenade.   • Chester Missing and his alter ego Conrad Koch, of Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola fame, is taking the Chester Missing Roadshow on tour “one last time”. The puppet asks questions that not many humans are brave enough to ask. He has interviewed political heavyweights such as Gwede Mantashe, Zwelinzima Vavi and Helen Zille.
