Nigerian state governors charged with graft

Three former state governors in Nigeria were charged in court on Friday with money laundering and stealing public funds. Prosecutors working for the Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have pledged to bring to trial former governors accused of corruption who enjoyed constitutional immunity while in office.

Nigerian opposition regroups in Abuja

The runner-up in Nigeria’s presidential elections convened a meeting with other opposition politicians on Wednesday, seeking a unified response to the weekend vote deemed not credible by international observers. The opposition has already rejected the outcome as rigged in favour of the ruling People’s Democratic Party.
