A suicide bomber blew himself up among a crowd of police recruits in the Iraqi city of Tikrit on Tuesday, killing about 50 people.
Three female suicide bombers killed at least 28 people in Baghdad on Monday while in the city of Kirkuk another bomber killed at least 22 people.

Thousands of angry Iraqi Shi’ites took to the streets of Samarra, north of Baghdad, on Wednesday after bombers struck one of their most celebrated shrines in an attack likely to fuel sectarian strife. The Imam Ali al-Hadi mausoleum’s golden dome collapsed after two bombs exploded inside the mosque.
