Yahoo! has introduced new features for its popular web-based email program, including software that allows computer users to type text messages on a keyboard and send them directly to someone’s cellphone. The enhancements make it easier to send email, instant messages or SMSs from a single website.
A new version of Adobe Systems’ Creative Suite software will go on sale this month, a launch that executives have billed as the most significant in the company’s 25-year history. The software suite includes well-known programs such as Photoshop for photo editing and Dreamweaver for web design.

Silicon Valley ranks dead last in an annual ranking of 12 United States technology hubs because of the region’s notoriously high housing costs, traffic congestion, high unemployment rate and other quality-of-life problems. The valley is one of the few global tech hubs that dominate both the technology and life-sciences industries.
EBay said this week that the online auction giant is entering the internet classified niche through a new site aimed at international users. The San Jose, California based company launched Kijiji.com on February 28 as a place for users to buy and sell goods and services that are difficult or impossible to ship.

Strong holiday sales caused eBay’s profit to surge 44% from the same period last year, and optimistic executives raised their outlook for the rest of 2005. But the online auction giant failed to meet Wall Street’s expectations by a penny per share and its shares fell.
Hewlett-Packard is introducing more than 100 new consumer gadgets on Monday, from digital cameras to photo-quality desktop printers, in anticipation of what could be a grinch-like holiday shopping season.
