UK bomb plot: SAA not cancelling flights

South African Airways (SAA) is not cancelling flights to the United Kingdom yet, but warned of lengthy delays on return flights. However, all passengers flying to the United States from Johannesburg International airport will not be able to indulge in duty free products such as perfumes or alcohol because all liquids and gels have been banned on these flights.

Submissions stream in on airport name change

The Department of Arts and Culture has received ”hundreds” of submissions on the proposed renaming of Johannesburg International airport to OR Tambo International airport, the department reported on Monday. The deadline for submissions is at midnight on Monday. Ministry spokesperson Sandile Memela said that submissions were streaming in ”every moment of every hour”.
