M&G Media, which publishes the Mail & Guardian, on Thursday announced that it has expanded the portfolio of its magazine publications by acquiring ownership of two key titles from Traders Publications: Traders and the Health Care Journal. The effective date of the transaction is August 1 this year.
The Mail & Guardian will from next week be responsible for its own distribution, a key step in securing the newspaper’s independence, M&G chief operating officer Hoosain Karjieker said on Thursday. M&G Media, publisher of the M&G, has bought a stake in Central Media Distributors (Cape).
M&G Media, owner of the <i>Mail & Guardian</i> newspaper, announced on Wednesday that Jason Zeelie has been appointed as the group’s managing director of publishing with effect from November 1. Most recently, Zeelie has worked at Independent Newspapers, where he was Gauteng retail and special projects advertising manager.
