A vicar in Germany who had the novel idea of helping parishioners escape the stresses and strains of daily life by letting them lie in an open grave was upset when intrusive journalists spoiled the atmosphere. ”I meant it as a meditative exercise,” said pastor Thorsten Nolting.

Telkom rejects Oger Telecoms approach

Telkom said it has rejected an approach from Oger Telecoms and will not consider the sale of the group or any of its units or joint ventures without a strategic rationale. Telkom said in a statement on Monday it had turned down the approach from United Arab Emirates-based Oger as it was not in the interest of shareholders.

Motorsport boss under pressure over sex video

Max Mosley, president of motorsports’ governing body FIA, is under pressure after a British tabloid reported on Sunday that he engaged in sex acts with prostitutes that involved Nazi role- playing. The News of the World reported that Mosley (67) paid five sex workers £2 500 in cash and then engaged in an orgy that lasted almost five hours.

Toll in Angola police base collapse rises to 15

Angolan rescuers brought out seven more bodies from the rubble of a collapsed police criminal investigation headquarters, bringing the death toll to 15, state media said on Monday. The victims — all women — were found in the women’s detection unit which was the worst hit when the seven-storey building collapsed in the capital Luanda.
