Pelembe scores winner in comedy of errors

Who said comedy was dead? It was alive and well at Durban’s King Zwelethini Stadium on Wednesday night as SuperSport secured a 91st minute goal to beat Golden Arrows 1-0 in what turned out to be a comedy of errors. In the end it was left to Lithe Mozambican midfielder Elias Pelembe to cannon a 20m shot in additional time into the roof of the net.

ANC takes strong position on skills development

Vusi Madonsela, director general of the Department of Social Development, said that one of the two commissions had deliberated on the issue of ensuring that people did not become dependent on social grants.

Economy: ‘Shift’s already happening’

The SACP is hoping that the change in ANC leadership with the election of Jacob Zuma as ANC president will provide an opportunity for changing policy perspectives to be accommodated.

Bush to make first presidential visit to Israel

United States President George Bush is to embark on a week-long tour of the Middle East in the new year to nudge Israelis and Palestinians towards an end to their decades-long conflict and to bolster an Arab coalition against Iran. It will be the first time in his seven years as president that Bush will have visited Israel, the West Bank, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states.
