India have Australia fighting a desperate rearguard in the second cricket Test after capturing five second-innings wickets on the fourth day at the Adelaide Oval in Australia on Monday. Rahul Dravid overtook Sunil Gavaskar’s 221 against England at The Oval in 1979 to become the highest Indian Test scorer outside India to date.

A car bomb killed 17 policemen and wounded 30 more at a police station in western Iraq on Sunday, police lieutenant Faiz Mohammad Motab and witnesses said. ”An explosion went off near the gate of the station. It killed 17 and wounded 30 policemen, including senior officers and the ranks. There’s a big hole outside the gate about three or four metres across and more than two metres deep, and the outside wall was knocked down.”
