Bali bounces back

Listening to Rika, a hot and young Indonesian pop star, felt good while chilling on a bed at Aneka Kuta hotel. Nothing mattered but the moment. My day had been an adventure and I wondered what to do next during my stay in Bali, Indonesia’s most famous holiday island. I thought about why on earth anyone would want to bomb any part of this peaceful place.

When I first heard the phrase "safe sex" I thought I was being encouraged to go out and pomp a Swede. After all, no other nation is as concerned with safety as are our Scandinavian cousins, so much so that they often seem to have forgotten how to enjoy themselves. But with the arrival of the new Volvo S60R that’s all changed.

‘The ANC is hurting bad’

Justice Minister Penuell Maduna says he will not stand for re-election into the government next year. In an interview with the Sunday Independent newspaper, Maduna said he would serve in the African National Congress in any other capacity, ”even as a floor sweeper”.

Another day in Iraq, another bomb

A suicide car bomber killed six Iraqis on Sunday in a huge explosion at one of Baghdad’s most heavily guarded hotels where CIA teams, American contractors and senior Iraqi officials were staying. The lunchtime blast was the latest in a series of devastating bombings over the past six months that have claimed nearly 200 lives, most of them Iraqi civilians.
