Iraq heats up as Sept 11 is remembered

United States troops on Thursday remembered the September 11 terrorist onslaught that triggered their invasion of Iraq, but faced a new spate of attacks and warnings by Islamic militants the fight here is far from over.

Poor farmers’ show of strength

Up to 10 000 of the poorest Mexican farmers and trade unionists marched on the World Trade Organistion’s opening meeting on Wednesday, demanding that small farmers be protected from international big business and that trade rules should not determine issues of food and health.
